Maya was born in February 2006, in Montana. Her breeder, Sharon Colvin of Red Royal Standards, Columbia Falls, Montana (www.redroyalstandards.com) generously donated her to Summit Assistance Dogs of Anacortes, Washington, a nonprofit organization that provides highly skilled assistance dogs for people with disabilities. This series of books follows Maya from puppy hood through her first two years in training.
